Vicente Guallart is Chief Architect of the city of Barcelona, and the Founder of the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) and of Guallart Architects. A pioneer of interaction between nature, technology and architecture, he proposes new paradigms based on emerging urban, social and cultural conditions. From this position, he explores the advent of a new kind of urban development linked to the concept of the Urban Habitat as a discontinuous metropolis that calls for both constructed and natural project design.
